About Bill and Barbara Bomar
We are as you see us, just us. We are two people brought together by the Holy Spirit to be one as in Mark 10:5-9. We firmly believe in "One Plus One Equals One" and "One" cannot be divided by anything. We both feel God's call to ministry to the Church as a whole and the individual whether they are in a Church or not. We also ask your prayers as we seek ministry opportunities to serve our Lord.
Our relationship and marriage is modeled after our relationship with Jesus Christ. When we are forgiven of our sins by Jesus we become one with Him and nothing can separate us from the love of Christ (Romans 8:38-39). We believe that with Jesus in the center of our lives and marriage that we cannot be separated by anything in the world.
What gives our love its strength is that we are dear and abiding friends. That friendship is what allows us to talk and be honest with each other in all things. It is also that friendship that helps us to know when to say things and how much to say. Some of the most powerful words from one friend to another is silence. The friendship that we have also comes from Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit and the Spirit guides us as to when to speak and when not to. Don't get us wrong, love is beautiful and wonderful but it is more difficult to bear the depth of honesty that friendship allows. We have the best of both; a deep Christ centered love and friendship all wrapped into one beautiful marriage.
Our calling to ministry is much the same as well. We firmly believe that the Church is in a great need of a deep Spirit led revival. Not a denominational revival for many of the problems have arisen from denominational differences and stubbornness but instead, a revival of the simple message of salvation that Jesus gave us. A message of salvation based upon our individual confessions that we are sinners and must have His grace to be saved. We must believe and accept His simple message realizing that there are no checklists, requirements, or evidences required. Jesus and our prayer for forgiveness is sufficient for salvation. Nothing that the denominations have or can add to the salvation experience is needed. We are forgiven by our asking for forgiveness or we are not, there is no middle ground or "you are saved...if". There are no "ifs" to salvation. The Church has drifted far from the original and simple message that Jesus taught.
Last year (2011) Christmas fell on Sunday. How many churches cancelled services on Christmas morning or moved them to Saturday? This is an example of how far the Church has drifted from the message and Jesus Himself. The Head of the Church came into the world on Christmas but we are too busy or don't want to bring an inconvenience to church members to celebrate the very beginning of it all.
It is our desire through preaching and teaching to restore the simplicity of His message and bring a revival to the Church one heart, one believer at a time. This revival will grow through the Church and into the homes, lives, and marriages of the followers of Jesus Christ. Remember, revival is for the saved, not the lost. You cannot revive that which has never lived. This is why we use and believe the word "revival" is appropriate for what we feel led of God to do.
